blackberry bluetooth

I would like to update the contacts, calender etc in my blackberry pearl with
bluetooth but I can't seem to pair the PC with the phone. Am I doing
something wrong or will this just not work. The PC will see the pearl and the
pearl will see the PC but ask for a password and none is active. Any
sugggestions?
