Email Client: Exchange

OK, so this is getting very annoying. Have researched a bunch on this but haven't found any info, so here it goes...

Few months ago I switched to Entourage 2008 from Mac Mail, running off an Exchange server. Every time a read an already read email in Entourage, my Blackberry receives that read message AGAIN & thinks it is new. It is getting very annoying as I am receiving duplicate emails on my Blackberry.

Even WORSE is that my Entourage database has crashed multiple times now (WTF?). I have rebuilt it & now my Entourage has been synchronizing to my Exchange INBOX for over 48 hours. As it goes through all of the old messages, my Blackberry is receiving all of them as NEW (over 3,000 old messages have hit my messages Blackberry as new since this process has begun). The thing that sucks the most is that my Entourage isn't receiving any new messages until this synchronization is done so I can't work off of it. Been trying to let it keep synchronizing but it is now on the 3rd day & still going.

Anybody know about this issues or have any ideas of how to remedy??? THANX!

You've mentioned several problems so I would suggest trying to resolve
your Database crashes first.

First, I recommend that you do not rebuild an Entourage Database that's
connected to an Exchange Server. Problems there can get replicated to
your server and overwrite data.

Use Entourage menu --> Switch Identity... to create a new identity.
Create your Exchange Server account again and let Entourage resync your
data. I suggest you make sure you're connecting to a back-end Exchange
Server and not a front-end OWA server.

Next, clear your Inbox. Move read messages to other folders outside your
Inbox. That should improve sync times.

Have a look at my blog post for ways to improve your Entourage and
Exchange connection:

"Optimize Entourage to better work with Exchange"

With luck, fixing these issues will resolve your Blackberry sync issue.

Hope this helps!
