blank document is now a template or a corrupted file

Everytime I open a new document, the same document comes
up that I created on 3/31/04. Sometimes I get an error
message that the file is corrupted. Word is part of
Office 2000. Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi Lynne,

The Easiest solution for this problem is search of Normal.dot and delete
the file and restart the system. Now it should work perfectly fine.
If not, delete all the cookies...and the temporary files.

Raghu, please do not advise users to delete Normal.dot. They could lose
years of customizations this way. Renaming the file will accomplish the same
thing and allow them to retrieve most customizations using the Organizer.
