Blank space on a line

S

using an access database as the data source. I put all my fields and use
"don't print blank lines.

All looks pretty good except where a person doesn't have a Middle Name --
there is a gap that one can live with but I'd like to make the gap disappear
to improve the qualtiy of my lables.

Any ideas?

Mary,

Thanks for your reply.
Am a bit lost - merge the fields in Access or Publisher? Am not sure how
to do this in either program and am not so keen to merge them in Access.

I can't help you with the Access part. I'm sure it is possible, but I'm not an
Access person. In any event you would have to go through the data and insert a
space between the first name and the middle initial/name.
I did copy/paste the Access data into Word. I could merge the cells but I had to
do a lot of adjusting because of the space after the first name and
initial/middle name. You can use a Word table as merge data in Publisher.
You also can create a new publication in step 3 (2007) or step 5 (2003). That
way you can edit individual entries. When you are ready to print in 2007, select
multiple pages per sheet. This can be a chore if you have many, many names.
