Blends

Just took a PowerPoint test online; one action was Blends. I'm obviously
very rusty ... what, pray tell, are Blends???? Help just keeps throwing me
at Templates but does not DEFINE Blends !! Thanks a bunch !

I haven't heard about Blends before -- might be a template name?

I am going to guess that "blends" refers to gradient fills of autoshapes
(and now lines and more in PPT 07).

Are you sure it was "blends"? There is an slide transition called "blinds" -
it looks like a sunblind being closed.

Blends has been a established Theme in FrontPage and Publisher (and I
suppose other Office programs) for a number of years. You can see a sample
Publisher template using Blends to creat a 3-panel flyer.
