In certain dialog boxes in Microsoft Office 2003 (in
Windows XP Home edition), my blinking cursor disappears,
making it hard to edit text since I don't know where the
new text is going without typing a letter (i.e., I don't
know where the current insertion point is, where I can
insert and delete text). This happens in Word, Excel and
Powerpoint in the file name box for "Save As", when
editing the name of the file, and in the search box
for "Help". But it never disappears when I am editing the
regular document. In "Save As" it reappears (and stays
visible) once I click on one of the first 5 characters in
the line, but does not do this for "Help".
It also occurs in Outlook 2003 when creating an email, but
only at the end of a long single line of text of greater
than about 65 characters. It reappears for the next line,
up to the 65th character, when it disappears again.
I don't get this problem with other programs, such as
WordPad. This is not a big problem, but it is annoying.
Thanks for any help you can give.
