blinking display

I created a 3 column table in Word 2002 in Windows 7 and the problem I
am having is that the table blinks continuously on the laptop screen
when I scroll up or down over the table.

What causes that and how can I stop it?

I think I solved it.

In case someone else needs the solution, you have to disable the default
"automatic resize" option for the table. That seems to have stopped it.
I hope permanently.
