Bloc cost information to Project managers

My project managers use Project 2003 Pro, since it offers them more
possibilities. I would like for them to continue using this tool, but bloc
their access to the project's Cost (the ressource's $/h) ?

How can this be done ?

Sorry, but you cannot permanently hide cost information about resources in
Project Server 2003. Because of this, I would recommend that you do not use
salary information in your Enterprise Resource Pool. A better approach is
to use a blended rate for each resource, thus hiding each resource's actual
salary. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip. I actually worked around it by making my managers work on
a file version of a project (saved in a SQL file) where they do not have to
complete any information on a ressource except for its name. When I need the
project's info, I import their project in Project Enterprise Server and match
my managers ressources with the enterprise global ressources. This match
completes the employe's information and adds the rates that I need.

Very clever solution! After you import the project into Project Server, do
you forbid the project managers from opening their project in Project
Server? If not, then they will eventually be able to see the resource
rates. Hope this helps.
