Block resource usage

Is it possible to block resource usage. If a resource is
booked on a project for a certain no of days, is it
possible to block assigning the resource to other projects
for the days booked?
Can this be done on the Project Server?

Hi David,

It is not possible to have MSP implicitly block a resource from being used
during that time. It will be up to the PM (or Resource Manager if you have
one) to review that resource's utilization first, then book the resource.

Before you ask "why on earth doesn't it have that feature?".... keep in mind
that resource utilization will be changing all the time on projects that
resource is assigned to. For example, let's say I booked Steve for a week
of work (Mon-Friday). Then you go into Project and try to book him for that
same week. If MSP kept you from adding Steve, how do you know that I might
be re-adjusting his schedule shortly to next week?
