Blocking all attached executables is not YOUR choice, it's mine.

Your addition to Outlook that permenantly blocks all attached executables has
caused me grief in my business. Right at the moment I am awaiting someone
renaming a file and sending it to me so that I can use it. It is keeping me
from doing my job and making a living.

I can agree with blocking all attached executables. I can not agree with not
allowing me the choice to open them after they are blocked if I desire. BAH
strike out on this one.

Admittedly, it is annoying, but safety often is. Luckily it's a quick fix.

To turn off the Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus option:

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box under Virus
Protection, and then click OK.

The poster is using Outlook, not outlook express and the steps are
different.

To whom are you speaking? This isn't Microsoft and Microsoft employees may
or may not read any of the messages here.

Nonsense. Since you can easily save the attachment and rename it, you're
not prevented from doing your job, it just takes (slightly) longer.
