Hi all,
I have updated a database originally written in Access 97 to Access 2003. I have been testing it on two PCs:
(1) PC1 is Windows XP Pro SP1
(2) PC2 is Windows XP Pro SP2
On PC1 I got the blocking unsafe expressions messages and installed and downloaded the Microsoft Jet SP8 as suggested. This now works fine and I don't get the unsafe expressions dialogs when the database loads.
On PC2 I also got the unsafe expressions dialogs, but I cannot install Jet SP8 as the running the download says that a later download (presumably contained in Windows SP2) is already installed. Checking the file MSJet40.dll, its version is 4.0.8618.0 which is the version for the MS04-014 download 'contained' in Windows SP2.
So how can I convince PC2 that the version of the Jet engine is indeed later than Jet SP8, and it should handle the unsafe expressions correctly?
Thanks for any help,
Stuart Conner
