blurred jpeg images.

whenever I insert jpg images into a word document they both view and print
blurred. I use 300 dpi images from a digital camera. If i use images with a
higher dpi and then shrink them in Word they, in fact, come out even more
blurred.

I've never had a problem with these images in either Quark or InDesign, or
Photoshop, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

What version of Word?

What is the setting for Pixels per Inch in
Tools=>Options=>General=>[Web Options]

Does changing that value then using
Format=>Picture and reset on the size change the
size? If so then the JPG file is not storing
the 300PPI value in the graphic.

What method are you using for inserting the graphic
into the Word document?
