body of email blank and hour glass continues to run

I am able to connect to the server, send and receive emails, however when I
receive a new email and click on it, the event timer continues to run and no
message is visible either in the preview pane or if I double click and open
the email ? HELP. Please address issue in Subject line so that I can read
some of reply.
