Booklet Prints Off Page

T

Terry

I have created a booklet of names and address. After I do the merge to a new
document and go t o page setup and change the layout to booklet the text goes
out side the blue guidlines and off the paper image background. It shifts to
the left and to the top. When I preview it the left page of the landscape
page is off the page. I have tried to change margins and about everything
that is possible to correct this. Shirinking the text, changing text box
size, changing margins in the printer setup etc. Is this a feature in
Publisher 2003 or is there some setting that I am not using? I gone throught
all the various suggestions on searching for booklet on MS site. Does
anybody have any insight to this. I am using a HP Laserjet 1320 and also
tried it on a HP 930 Deskjet. Same results with both printers. I would
think that would rule out a printer driver.

Thanks for the help
Terry

I think it's brain dead - I created a new file and defined it as a booklet,
saved it, closed it went thru the catalog and mail wizard selected existing
file which is the one I just created and it went thru the merge and the first
four pages of the doc where blank.

Don't save and reopen your booklet setup.

Open the Catalog and Merge Wizard. Go through the steps as described.
Start with page setup, booklet
Tick the Catalog merge in step 1
An area will open on your screen, you can adjust this to fit how many entries you
want on each page.
Initially it shows four...
In step 2 browse to your data.
In step 3 create a text box to receive your data, select your fields to merge.
In step 4 Preview
In step 5 click Create new Publication.
When Publisher is finished making your directory, add pages to the front and back
for your covers. Keep in mind booklet pages are divisible by four.
