Bottom of page margins change unepxectedly

Diane

This has happened a couple times so far--I open an already-created document
to work on it, and when I go to print it, the bottom 1/3 of the page won't
print. I go to page setup and it shows that somehow the margins were changed.
I try to fix them but the fix doesn't "take." That is, I get an error message
that I am trying to print outside the printable area.

This is happening with fairly important documents, like my grad school
thesis. I am afraid that if I email the document to my home computer (from
work) then whatever is happening with the formatting will carry over to my
home laptop.

Can someone help?

If you are printing to an HP LaserJet, there are known conflicts between
Word 2002/2003 and the HP drivers for certain LaserJets that result in a
2.67" trailing margin (bottom of portrait or one side of landscape). Some
users report that restarting Word or Windows clears the problem. You can
also use the Windows driver for the printer instead of the HP one but will
probably lose some advanced features. Many users have reported that the
drivers at http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/index.html solve the problem.
