Bouncing Mail

Apple Mail can BOUNCE mail so that a spammer or stalker thinks that my
address is dead. Entourage as far as I can tell cannot do this. Or can it? I
am using 2004.

This is not an option available in Entourage. Your best option is to never
respond to any spam messages and ask to be opted out. All you have done is
verify your address is good.

Actually the spammer thinks the address is dead or has been deleted as Apple
Mail sends back a "user not found" or whatever back. Its like sending an
email to an aol user that does not exist.

Hmm so fake bounces are not a good idea. Hmm...

Sending fake bounce messages is a really bad idea. Here's why:

100% agree.

If we could bounce messages back to the actual spammers then we could
just as easily identify and prosecute them.

As part of their penance they should have to send apology messages to
every person they've spammed but they'd have to type each one
individually on a manual typewriter, put it in an envelope and lick the
stamp and flap themselves.

Heck, handwritten postcards that say "I'm sorry I spammed you" would be
fine too. But they'd still have to lick the stamps. :-D

I understand know. I'll only use that feature to warn off unwanted people,
not spammers. If someone I do not like emails me then I can bounce his or her
emails. But they are not spammers.
