'Bouncing' scroll-bar

M

Miss P.T.

Running Outlook '07 SP1 (as part of Office Pro). My parents recently reported
to me that, if the message they're composing is longer than one screen, every
time they hit the return key, or the sentence they're typing carries on to a
new line, the scroll bar 'bounces' back up to the top of the email and they
have to scroll back down but, repeat the same procedure and it happens again.
It's recently started happening to me, too (we share the same computer). So,
to clarify, that's 3 accounts with the same behaviour.

We have a natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 and my father, who is a little
short-sighted, likes to use the zoom jog-wheel to enlarge the text. However,
the aforementioned phenomenon occurs whether the text is zoomed or not.

The system is running XP Home SP2 (plus all available updates).

Running Avast! Free Edition, if that makes any odds.

Could someone shed any light on /why/ this is happening and, rather more
pertinently, offer me some solution(s)?

Cheers

P.T.
