Broken links in Report Summary

A

A J Hackler

I currently have FP2000, and have two problems I can't resolve.

First.....If I run the hyperlink validator, I can't figure out how to get
the report to 'move' the validated links to a separate report so that they
aren't checked again every time I create new pages and go to validate only
the newest links on those pages. I have been in the Help file and it
indicates I should run the validator twice on those links, then run the
Recalculate Hyperlinks so that only the broken links will continue to show up
until they are fixed. I have thousands of hyperlinks and having to validate
ones I've just checked yesterday is taking hours to complete just to be told
over and over that they are ok.

Second....There are some links that FP insists on reporting as broken, when
they are, in fact, fine. I've copied and pasted those links into my browser
just to have the exact URLs show up that are on my pages and the page is
valid. How can I force FP to accept the links and not report them as broken?
(some of the links actually go to direct downloads for files which works but
some are just a homepage and is still valid without being a redirect)

1. Not possible to move the items from the broken hyperlink report, it will always check all links.

2. If FP can not get a respond from the remote server, the link will show as broken, if you have
tested the link in your browser and know that it is valid, you can disregard the report.
