I wonder if somebody could confirm this, and if true, provide a workaround.
I have a DB in which I defined 5 tbls. One table is the root, with one to
many relationships to the other 4 tables. I start form wizard by: New -
Form Wizard, and it asks me for the table, and then to select the field names
for data entry. I select 2 fields from the 'root' table....within this
window, I then select another table and select the fields I want populated
from the form, hit next, and it asks me what kind of layout (tabular or
subform), I select sub form, and then finish, and it works.
Now, I repeate the above process, select the first souce table and select
the fields, select the second source table and fields, and then I selelct a
THIRD table, as two fields from it, (now I have a form composed of six
fields, two from table 1, two from table 2 and two from table 3), and hit
Next, and I get a different form generator screen-it has six selections for
the form (Col, Tabular, Datasheet, Justified, Pivot tbl, Pivot chart). I
select Col, hit finish and view the form and it is BLANK!....No text, no
controls, NADA...I repeat this exercise choosing Tab, then Datasheet, then
justified..etc. and the results are all the same...BLANK.
So, if I use two tables as source of input fields, works OK, If I use 3
tables as souce of input fields, it produces a blank form. SO,, is this a
bug or am I miunderstanding the use of the form wizard? Any easy
workarounds besided handcrafting? (I did a small versionof a form by
handcrafting using 3 table and one filed from each table, and it worked.....)
Thanks for muddling through this.
