Bug in styles

K

Kevin

The "keep with next" paragraph formatting does not work
with Heading 2 and Heading 3 styles of a particular
document. Unchecking and rechecking the box doesn't fix
the problem. I can't delete the styles because they're
part of Word's built-in styles. The same style names of a
new document based on a different template seem to work
fine. How can I delete the Heading 2 and Heading 3 styles?

Thanks.

Kevin.

Hi Kevin

You can't delete the styles, and if you really suspect they are not behaving
correctly in your document you should treat it as a corruption and paste the
document content (without the last paragraph marker) into a new one with the
correct styles.

However, what do you mean by 'not working'? If you have a large number of
'keep with next' paragraphs together, Word will have to break somewhere.
It's easy to accidentally get odd effects while building a template with
oddly-organised 'sampler' paragraphs, which can send you down the wrong
alley :)
