Bug in Word 2002

Hi,

I'd like to report a bug in Word 2000 and I'm not sure
where to do it.

Here's how to reproduce it:

1. Create new document
2. Insert->Break
3. Choose Next page in section break types
4. Click ok
5. Click anywhere on the first page
6. Format->Borders and Settings
7. Click Box (eg. box border)
8. Click Options
9. Measure from: choose text
10. Click ok
11. Apply to: This section - First page only
12. Click ok
13. Click center button
14. Type something (eg "Test")
15. Push Enter

The problem is:

Instead of going to the next line when Enter is pressed,
the cursor advances one space. If you push Enter a second
time, the cursor does advance to the next line.

Hi Jeffrey,

There are quite a few bugs in Word, but I'm not sure I would call this one
a bug.

After step 15 (steps 5-13 aren't really necessary), you have a paragraph
with some text, immediately followed by a "section break next page".
You expect an empty line between the two, but there isn't anything (yet).
As soon as you type anything after step 15, the new line/paragraph appears,
so I don't see a big problem.

It may seem inconsequential that Word displays an empty line following step
4, or between two consecutive "section breaks next page".
But this empty line on an empty page never is a problem, while a redundant
empty line at the bottom of an already filled page might well be a problem.

If I enter a character after step 15 and immediately delete it again with
backspace or "undo", there is a screen updating problem: The display will
continue to show the empty line until the screen is refreshed. But that's
not a terrible bug IMO, either.

Greetings,
Klaus
