Bulk Time Entry

Does anyone know how to allow PWA Entry of 6 months worth of time data as a
single entry for a time period? We have tried to set the admin page via
customize PWA via 'Resources should report their total hours worked during
the entire time period set up above ' setting.

Do you really need to do this? I wouldn't attempt this through PWA, rather
I'd enter it through Project where you can control the results. Assuming
that you don't care what days the time is distributed to, I'd try entering
this task by task for each resource in the Task Usage view. In order to keep
your schedule intact you'll need to manipulate the tasks quite a bit. You
will probably need to set an actual start date, temporarily set the tasks to
fixed-duration so that the system spreads the work over the duration, enter
the work at the correct zoom level, and then cleanup your tasks to make sure
that they conform to the schedule and reset the task types to their original
value.

The description below is EXACTLY what we want.
I have 6 months worth of detail data that needs to be entered.
Each task IS fixed duartion and starts on Jan 2 and ends on Jun 30.
We do not need nor expect project to give us accurate day by day postings.
We have NO dependencies set nor required due dates to worru about.
We simply need to post time to the correct "task bucket" and get the time
equally apportioned over the full duration.
We want to do it through the PWA so that the data will wind up in the Web
Work/Actual Work Protected fields of each task.
THAT requirement is driven by our customized reporting system.
If I put the data in Pro in the Actaul Work fields as described below it
will NOT show on our customized reports.

The problem is we can't get the administrative settings to work.
When we set the PWA time frame to Jan2-Jun30 "for the entire period" it
gives us an error message.
So what we need is help getting the administrative choice of the "entire
period" and a single "box" entry in the PWA to work.

Clos:

Then do it the way I suggest. When you get the time into the projects do
this:

Temporarily disable managed time periods
Publish the project using Collaborate > Publish > Republish assignments
Select the check box to overwrite time in the timesheets and click OK
Re-enable managed time periods

This will push the actual work to the server and it will show up everywhere
you want it to!
