Bullet symbol changed to speaking head

Possibly as a result of a HD crash and reinstalling Office
MS Word does not now use the standard bullet but a
strange little head facing right with marks denoting speaking,

What can I do to globally fix this?

Your best bet is to attempt and find the font that you are
missing. Once installed ( assuming you did not alter the files
too much ) it should revert back and be a bullet again.
