bullets are crashing word

I'm running word for mac -- it'e been fine since i
bought/installed last summer. for some reason it's now
crashing every time i try to use bullets in a document.
it says that "it's experiecing problems, needs to close
and didn't affect other apps." i'm pretty sure there's no
virus as i haven't downloaded any docs and use a
firewall. any advice?? thanks alot...

You might try quitting Word, renaming your normal template to hide it,
then restarting Word, which will then create a new one, hopefully
without the 'bullets and numbering' corruption you might be having.

Another possibility is a font nightmare. Try changing the bullet
characters you are using in the bullets and numbering templates.

I'll guess from your purchase date you are on v.X. Normal should be in
/Applications/Microsoft Office X/Templates/

While you are fettling everything, it might be a good idea to dance the
Office upgrade tango if you have not already done so. A wiser head will
be along shortly to help you with this if you need it. Just ask again.

To get better advice, include in your problem statement your Office and
OS X version numbers. Good luck!
