In Project 2003, use the Analyze Timescaled Data in Excel wizard on the
Analysis toolbar. Export the desired data and create the chart in Excel.

In P2007, Report/Visual Reports and you can select one of the time phased
reports that will graph it for you.

If you need more help, tell me Burn Rate of what?

Let me be a little more clear ... In P2007, you will still have to modify
the graph data to get what you need.

Okay, i wish i had not seen this! Now i can not leave for home...

but seriously, very powerful.

I could not change the timeframe. it defaults to quarters, but i was hoping
to get finer grain than that. Months ideally. I go in and redo the "Select
level of usage data to inclue in the report" and chose months, (which
defaults to days) and change it, but i still get the graph in quarters...

very confused.

It looks like the timeframe is one of the last selections in the wizard before you generate the report.

Does anyone know of a way to get resource data into a timephased report like this? How about custom text fields on the task? I'm specifically trying to create a report that gives me hours by resource by phase of the project, so I created a custom text field on each task (phase, like requirements, design, development, testing, etc). But I can't figure out any way to get that data into a single report.
