Is there any way to burn a slide show to dvd and have all the animations work
without have to advance the slides manually?

If you convert the powerpoint slideshow to a movie then it will just run
without you having to click through each slide.
The hard part is converting the slideshow to a movie!. If you have
powerpoint on the mac it has a "save to quicktime movie" feature. The PC
version does not.

Will the burned DVD play on TV DVD player? Or will it only play on a Mac or PC?

If you just put your original powerpoint files (ppt) on a blank DVD, you can
read it on a PC or a MAC with a DVD-ROM drive.

My original reply was aimed at your wanting to make it play on a regular
home DVD player (perhaps I assumed wrongly) as a DVD (and not a PC or a
MAC).

No I want to save it on dvd or a vcd format that it will show on a dvd
player/tv. I want all the animations and transitions to work like they would
if you viewed it on a pc. I have producer and if you burn to dvd it works
like a slideshow that you have to advance each slide and the audio/music does
not work. How do you save a slideshow to a movie?

TAJ,

Home DVD player is exactly what I want it to play on. I'll have to test it
out tonight. I'm on a Mac using PPT 2004 so I've got the export feature.

Thanks!

That's good. All you need is some software that will convert the quicktime
mov movie format to a DVD movie format (mpeg2). On the PC side, a lot of
people use some dvd/cd writer software called Nero, that has the DVD
conversion features built in.
