business contact manager does not update recently modified date

The recently modified date will not update when an account history item
(note, task, phone call, etc) is added to the account. It is only changing
when a contact is added or any of the contact information is changed for that
account. Is it supposed to do this? It makes it hard to see what accounts
have been "worked" on a particular day. Any suggestions?
