Business Contact Manager Update Fail (KB946140)

I couldn't install the update KB946140 for my Business Contact Manager. The
error code is 779. I have alreday turned off my Kaspersky Internet Security
and closed the outlook 2007. I even tried to install it while shutting down
my computer but failed without exception. So, what should I do? How can I
make it? Please help!!! Thanks.

Can't help you, can only tell you that i have the same problem. Tried to
embrace bcm (which i really don't need) but when i started it, bcm failed to
install a database. When i try to unistall it i get a setup error. Very
annoying, i can't get rid of it!

I too am having the same issue. A lot of googling about error code 779 leads
to Outlook 2003 related issues, but hardly any reference to Office 2007.

I would like to list my configuration here so that we may find some
similarity between our systems:

Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad T61 with Windows Vosta Business Edition 32-bit.
I have not activated Office 2007 so it is sitting idle, maybe thats the
reson, not sure though.

I have all the latest Think Series updates as well as Vista updates but this
one is very notorious and the system just can't seem to get around with it.

MS guys, do something...

Try contacting MS directly if you need help from them. This is a

I am running Vista 64 bit and dowloaded/installed SP1. After this, the BCM
update installed.

I'm having the same problem. It's been failing for months. It says it's
important. I hope it's not. I'm seriously considering dumping Business
Contact Manager altogether for a variety of reasons but it is beyond stupid
that this hasn't been solved yet.
