Button faces - background colour problems

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can:

1. Copy a stock button face from MS Excel
2. Modify this slightly for my own purposes
3. Save this modified button face in an xla file
4. Use this modified button face for my own custom button

The above problem can be solved in part by:
1 & 2 & 3 - in menu customisation mode use Excel's built in button face
editor to edit the button face and 'copy' the button face and paste as
an image on to an excel worksheet.
4 - Use the .copy and .pasteface methods to take the image from the
worksheet and use as the button face.

However there is one problem with the above method:
The transparent background colour of the button face is lost (i.e. if
someone changes the default windows colour scheme so that light gray is
no longer used as the menu background colour the button face will stick
out like a sore thumb). This is the problem I wish to overcome (i.e.
how do I create a transaprent colour on the button face, just like the
standard excel button faces).

Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

I have already tried using the various faceid viewers as the source of
the button images but again the background transparent colour is lost.

Many thanks,
John
