Buying more Groove 2.0 and 2.5 licences

G

Gilles

I am running Groove between 5 PCs using Groove 2.0 Std & Pro. I want to buy
more licences; I don't want to upgrade to Office 2007.
What do I need to do to buy more keys? Microsolft makes it so complicated.....

Hi Gilles,

Responding to your remark "Microsoft makes it so complicated....."
I would suggest you to call me or send me an e-mail.

I am quite sure we can find a solution, although I am afraid that this
will not be for Groove release 2.0 or 2.5
It will be for Groove Virtual Office 3.1 as you mentioned you don't want
to migrate to Microsoft Office Groove 2007 yet. Would that be an option
for you?

FYI, Microsoft licenses purchased through the Microsoft Volume Licensing
Program allow the use of the current and previous software release.

Hi Jan, me again.

I guess the real question is this: If someone purchases a Groove 2007
license through volume liecensing as you describe, are you able to activate a
Groove 3.1 installation with a valid license so that is moves from the
limited demo mode to full functionality?

Purchasing the volume license may authorize the user to use previous
versions, but that previous version still needs to be properly activated in
order to become fully funtional (leave demo mode). Since this process was
last done through the original Groove company prior to the Microsoft
purchase, how is it done now? Is there still a mechanism in place that allows
activation of 3.1?

Hi Jim,

Answer to your questions:
- 1st: yes, we are able to provide our customers with a valid Groove 3.1
license activation key, although this requires some more sales admin
work :)
- 2nd: not an automated mechanism. On request only.

Best regards,
Jan

I read you email re groove licenses. I have the same question for office
2003 student edition. I have used all the available installations.

Did you purchase your licenses through the Microsoft Volume Licensing
program?

Although current licenses are for Office 2007, you could exercise your
rights to downgrade.
For this you will need to contact Microsoft's customer services

Notes:
- Microsoft Volume Licensing program is available for 5 and more users
- right to downgrade is restricted to current and prior release only.
Once Office 14 ships (end 2009 / begin 2010 ?), you cannot downgrade to
Office 2003 anymore.

Best regards,
Jan
