Buying OEM Office licence online. Qualify for upgrade? Legal?

L

LegalBeagle

I see a lot of offers online for Microsoft Office OEM. If I buy this does it
qualify for upgrade? Is it a "leagal" copy?

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is...you may end up with a
bootleg or some Thai version or something.

Make sure you get a coa and a peace of hardware. Microsoft had to
relax that rule do to wal-mart selling windows xp pro oem with just a
mouse. Watch making foreign orders with you credit card

1) OEM licences

-- cannot upgrade

-- cannot be transferred to a different computer in the future

-- the license cannot be sold or transferred to another user

-- are not eligible for free Microsoft technical support

-- cost less than "retail versions" due to the above limitations

2) It's spelt "legal"

Pay no attention to Evadne Cake, AKA, Miss Perspicacia Tick .She gets her
kicks treating others poorly and laughing at their questions and misfortunes
in these newsgroups, providing no real help at all.

I really dislike the term "nazi" applied to something that has nothing to do
with the political party.

Mostly correct except for one point. The OEM license can be
transferred to another user as long as the original hardware is
transferred along with it.

No - but just because someone is pedantic does NOT merit being equated with
bigoted murderers.

I don't nor does any one else need to see a spelling lesson and she is
incorrect as far as transferring the oem license, as long as it stays with
the same computer it can be done.

She happens to be correct on this
