Oulook XP on Windows 2000.

When typing in the 1st 3 to 4 letters of an e-mail address outlook
automatically complete the address within the TO field (not a drop down
menu). The problem is the e-mail address is outdated and I would like to
purge it. How would I go about doing this?

This only work for a drop down selection. I am aware of how to purge these.
However mine is really odd. After typing in the first 3 to 4 letters the
e-mail address appears (to the right, not below) and every letter after the
first 3 to 4 letters is highlighted.

Sounds like you have a single autocomplete entry. The following article
discribes how to handle those: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=305572
