calc percent complete on project level

I need to create an enterprise field of "% Complete" for
the PROJECT level. I have no idea how to do this from
either a math perspective or a project perspective. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

The % Complete is already calculated on the project level for each project,
so you should not need to create your own custom field. This value can be
seen on the Project Summary task (aka Row 0 or Task 0) in any project. To
display the Project Summary Task, click Tools - Options, select the View
tab, and select the "Show Project Summary Task" option, and then click OK.
Insert the % Complete column and in any table and then examine the value
found in the Project Summary Task. Hope this helps.

Tara the only thing to keep in mind is that the solution
outlined for you creates the project level % complete for
you from the % complete on tasks below. I seem to recall
that if you change that project level % complete (assuming
that you want to report a different % complete for some
reason) that all task % completes will change. There is
something called Physical % Complete that may allow you
more flexibility.
