Calculate like in Word 5.1 or 98?...

Aloha,

I've grown used to the previous versions of word having a
calculations (5.1 and 98) function that all you had to do was drag
the cursor over the items to be computed while holding the option key
you get a total. Can I still do this with the later versions of
word/office X for macintosh? If not, why not, it was great and I used
it all of the time.

The ToolsCalculate command is certainly still in Word 2004, though I didn't
experiment with how it works to confirm.

It works wonderfully. The article while being written for windows
people was easily translated into Mac and the calculator is back in my
tools menu. Thank you so much.
