Calculated Duration

Can I write a formula in for the Duration field that will enter in the work
value plus a move time. For example: ((Qty*Hrs per unit)+Move time in
hours)= Duration

Currently I am doing this is a custom field but then after all my changes I
have to go back and enter in the calculated fiel into the duration field
manually. I am sure this is the wrong way.

Any calculated field such as duration cannot hold a formula. You need to
keep your custom field and maybe add a VBA macro to update Duration from the
calculated field.

Instead of writing a macro you could also use a paste link. Holding down
Ctrl, select the custom field and then select the duration field. In the
Edit menu select Paste Special and select the Paste Link radio button. Click
ok. Now a change to the custom field will affect the duration field.

Note this isn't that scalable since you'll have to do this for each task.
