Hi Everybody,
I am trying write a query to calculate a field using rolling months to
create a rolling quarter. My data looks like this:
Date Month_Rtn_Rel Quarter_Rtn_Rel
12/31/2005 1.0689
11/30/2005 1.0490
10/31/2005 0.9704
9/30/2005 1.0402
8/31/2005 1.0341
7/31/2005 1.0434
The Excel formula to calculate Qtr_Rtn_Rel for Excel is ((month1 * month2 *
month3) - 1) *100
The expected results are
12/31/2005 8.8086
11/30/2005 5.8871
10/31/2005 4.3830
9/30/2005 12.2354
8/31/2005 -100
7/31/2005 -100
The -100 value is the fact that there was not 3 months to calculate. This
is how Excel calculated it, what ever figure Access comes up for not enough
months is fine.
