calculating an avg days calls

Data: TABLE example
Call Source Date Number
Local 1/1/05 5
Toll Free 1/1/05 100
Transfers 1/1/05 20
Local 1/2/05 15
Toll Free 1/2/05 200
Transfers 1/2/05 30

I need to be able to caculate the average calls per week. If the table was
my entire week I would have averaged 185 but I can't get the total / 2, I
get total / 6.

I must be missing something simple.

SELECT AVG(totalCalls)
FROM ( SELECT SUM(Number)
FROM myTable
GROUP BY date )


should do. You may have a problem with the field date and the function of
the same name. Try changing the field name, if possible.
