calculating distinct value

hi guys, I have a report and I'm having trouble calculating distinc value.
My report look like this :

GH1 Products Type
GH2 Salesmans
GH3 product
Detail list of product and number of sell by product
GF1 product
GF2 Salesmans
GF3 products type

I have calculation in the Group footer2 for each salesman and in Group
footer 3 for each product type

here's an example of my report

Product type : Toys
Salesman : John
detail : lego 4
detail : dolls 3
Total for john : 7 sales 2 products

Salesman : Tony
detail : lego 8
detail : firetruck 2
detail : policecar 3
Total for Tony : 11 sales 3 products
Total for toys : 18 sells, 4 products

The problem is that I am not able to count the number of distinct products
for each salesman and for each product category in this case toys.

Any help on that one would be great
