Calculating Time

Angela Edwards

Hello,
I'm trying to calculate time in the 2:50:00 format,
which would be (2 hours and 50 mins.) I'm trying to add a
total column of time in this format to get the total time
used in a week. But when I select the column, it keeps
giving me a 0:00:00 value.
What am I doing wrong? Or should I have used another
type of time format in order to get a value in total
hours, minutes and seconds?

Please help!!
Thank you!!

XL by default will "roll over" the time display at 24 hours (so
25:00 displays as 1:00, corresponding to clock time). To display
actual hours, choose Format/Cells/Number/Custom [hh]:mm:ss.

Thank you!! I will try this...but will it add up
the column of hh:mm:ss when I'm done, in a cell
with the total sum, right?
