Calculation "Flag"?

Is there some function or other means that would allow me to access a
calculation "flag"? What I mean, is something similar to the ISERR function.

I want to use this function to detect if anything has been entered or
altered in a spreadsheet, so that output of results is blanked out until the
spreadsheet is recalculated.
