Calendar appointments show as "Copy"

Using Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003, we exported a users calendar to
a pst file. We exported mail sent items and contacts as well each
into their own pst files. We then deleted the mailbox from the
Exchange server. After ~48 hours we recreated the mailbox on a
different Exchange 2003 server and imported the data. Unfortunately,
all the calendar items are listed as "Copy". As a result, the items
cannot be updated or moved.
Any ideas?
