Calendar: Delete Non-Recurring Events Not Working

S

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop I have been trying to persuade Entourage 2004 (with latest update) to
delete my old non-recurring events. It won't.

So, dear friends, does it actually not work at all or can it be
persuaded to function as advertised ?
Is the fact that I am synchronising to iCal having some kind of
disabling effect (but the 'replace sync services items with Entourage'
is selected) ?

Or will I have to perform this manually with the aid of a 'Custom
View'; and then again every so often ?

All good wishes.

Entourage is not designed to automatically delete your events and has
never been advertised to do any such thing.

You will need to delete them manually.

Hi Bill.

I beg to differ. Look in Preferences>Calendar. There is an option to "Delete non-recurring events older than [box] [pull-down menu - days/weeks/months]".

Seems clear to me, if not to Entourage.

Apologies. I sit here corrected. Unfortunately, yours is the first post
I've seen about this not working. I don't use it myself and can't
provide any answers.

I'm just wondering whether this preference only works with Calendar events which are put in only after it has been selected - a kind of safety feature, if you see what I mean.

I am reluctant to test this in anger as it may completely b****r up my Calendar - something, which having suffered the consequences previously, I am anxious to avoid.

William, thanks for your reply. All the very best …

Simon
