Can I import a calendar from a CSV file into my Entourage calendar? For example, suppose I want to import all of my baseball games from the calendar on my favorite teams website

Interesting how sports schedules all seem to come in CSV format. ;-)

You'll need to convert your CSV file to an .ics/iCal file. You can drag
these files onto the Entourage icon to import them.

You can use this online Yahoo converter:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply Bill. Unfortunately, when I drag the .ics file to Entourage, nothing happens. Suggestions?

Thanks. This will import them into my address book but I want them in my calendar. Any other suggestions?

See if iCal will import them. If it does, you can sync that up to Entourage
calendar.

If that much work is involved I'll just use iCal. Anyone working on making this easier?

Thanks for the suggestions Diane

We are your peers. I suggest sending feedback to Microsoft so that you can
register a wish to have this added.

Send feedback to Microsoft.

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications or visit

You've left the .ics file extension on the end? Can you point to an
example of the schedule you're downloading? I can try to convert it and
see if I can reproduce the problem.

Sure Bill

Go to any NCAA team site and bring up the schedule:

<http://sacredheartpioneers.cstv.com/sports/m-lacros/sched/saht-m-lacros-sched.html>

Basically I am trying to get this schedule into my calendar. I was
told that I would need to copy/paste into excel then run that
conversion to .ics

I don't see a CSV file to download. Even CSV schedules have a format
with specific headings. Are you trying to simply copy/paste what's
available on the page to make a CSV file? That won't work. The CSV file
must be created by the online institution so that it contains the proper
content.

You mean I can't copy/paste into excel then save as a CSV then
import?

That's what I mean, yes.

Copying/pasting information into a CSV file does nothing to tell any
application this is calendar information. It just puts raw data into a
plain text file.

Have a look at the Boston Red Sox schedule that you can download as a
CSV file:
<http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/schedule/downloadable.jsp?c_id=bos>. If
you open it in Excel you'll see that it has specific column headers that
are recognizable as calendar items.

You could possibly use the Red Sox schedule as a template to make your
own CSV file, but then maybe entering the data manually into Entourage
is just as fast.

However, it only takes one person to make the schedule available for
everyone. Maybe others would appreciate your hard work. ;-)

I'm new to Entourage and Macs and I've looked at every drop down menu with
the calendar open in Entourage and I didn't see anything, anywhere about a
sync. That's what I had assumed would happen with Mobile Me. Can and will
you clue me in now to get the calendar from iCal to Entourage?

Thanks,
Tim

More reading and I came across the post indicating setting up sync under
preferences. Tried it and, like so many posts I've read, it didn't work for
me. Oh, well, being a four day Mac user, I'm still delighted with it and
can only wonder what the heck took me so long to dump Windows/MS DOS. ;-)

If you look at Activity Monitor, is there an app called "Microsoft Sync"
running (or runs when you modify something in the Entourage calendar in
iCal)?

1) Open Entourage Preferences under Entourage in the Menu bar.
2) Select Sync Services and check options you want to sync

It's been advised to only sync one item at a time. When there are multiple
syncs between Entourage, iCal, Mobile Me, phone etc. things can get a big
screwy. I would sync contacts then turn it off until you need to sync again.
You can leave the calendar sync on all the time.

I highly suggest you read Basics of how Sync Services Works.
