Calendar issues - using wrong hrs and days

Hi,

I've changed my standard calendar to be 4 hours per day however MSP isn't
reflecting this in it's calculations.

Also, I've created a non-standard calendar for a resource (called her name)
which MSP doesn't appear to be recognising as it is allocating deliverables
on non-work days (she works 3 days per week).

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hello aes262,

Your calendar may only allow 4 hours per day, but the definition of
how many hours are in a day is likely set to 8. Please see FAQ 5
at:
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

for details.

To the question of the deliverable being scheduled for non-working
time -- is the duration of the deliverable zero? If so, change the
duration to 1 min to force it to the working schedule of the
assigned resource. If the duration of a task is zero, there is no
work calculated and therefore it doesn't have to "obey" a working
schedule in the calendar.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

Selecting the Work Weeks tab > Details... button seems to have fixed both
problems - thanks!

As an aside, initially the deliverable scheduled for a non-work day had a
non-zero value.

Hopefully the gremlins are gone!

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback. If you have changed
the resource's calendar through Tools > Change Working Time and the
deliverable is a regular task with duration greater than zero and
you've not set a task calendar, the deliverable should not be
scheduled for non-working time.
