calendar search

The database I a currently working on is for a small company. There are only
a few employees. What I want to do is set it up so that when they input an
appointment a calendar pops up and displays that times that are available. So
if a previous appointment was booked on Fri 2:00, then it will somehow
reflect ( being grayed out or something) that this time slot is already taken
up.

How should I go about the above? Thanks for the help.

To build a calendar based on entries you'll need to look into something like
FlexGrid. Below is a sample setup by Peter Hibbs.

I've used it in the past and it does work quite well.
