Calendar

Does anyone know where I can find a calendar in FrontPage
that will display events on the site? I have schedules
when items come up before various city agencies for
approval that I need to keep up to date. I've done a
little searching without results so far, but I'm in a bit
of a time crunch. Thanks in advance if you find me one.

Hi Jim

I too was searching for a FP calendar, but didn't find anything suitable. At least, nothing that could be updated on the fly by accessing the web site, which is what I was looking for

I don't know how experienced you are with include pages or if you know anything about php. Here's what I did though

First, your host has to have both FP extensions installed as well as PHP and MySQL for this particular script. Without PHP being enabled and a MySQL database to use, this won't work

I downloaded and modified a php script that displays a nice calendar (database driven) which can be updated on the web site by anyone who has the username and password for it. It took a LOT of modification to the script to get it to work correctly, but it was worth it (I hate script bugs!). I then created a new page in FP and inserted an IFRAME which displays the php page inside of it. I'm not too good with terminology. Is this an include? LOL.... Anyway, it works great for us

If you want to take a look at how it works, it's at http://chinook2.stokeslanding.com/calendar.ht

If this is what you're looking for, I'll go find the script again. I forgot which script archive I found it in

Hope this helps
Pa

ive been coming across a lot of calendar scripts. i've been looking for a
"self service" appointment scheduler for like a doctor's office. (they're
few and far between)
I've seen a lot in asp/ asp.net at www.fuzzysoftware.com

vBulletin.com has a great customizable calender feature as
part of their latest bulletin board software.
