I have a user that has an enterprise calendar assigned. This calendar
requires 8 h work per day from Mon to Fri. After a few weeks I've
changed this user base calendar to the one which requires 4h work per
day from Mon to Fri. All previous time works that user has had assigned
were reduced by half. :(
How to change users base calendar without reducing his work time ?

The resource calendar details the capacity to work, so by reducing it to 4hrs
per day will naturely extend the duration of assignments.

You can get around this by setting the "Ignore Resource Calendar" to Yes in
Proj Pro (add column in Ent. GANTT table) and adding a task calendar to the
task in question. Whilst you may want to do this for the odd assignment, the
norm would be to follow the resource base calendar.

Andy,

Revert the user to the previous calander so he previous effort returns
to it's normal schedule. Then I think you have a few options. You
could set up a part time calendar and have that calendar assigned to
the tasks the part timer is on.

Or you should be able to set up a Resource calendar and click on the
Work Week tab. Here's an excerpt from the Help file.

Use the Work Weeks tab to set up the normal work week for the selected
calendar. For example, if a resource does not work on Fridays, use the
Work Weeks tab to change every Friday to a nonworking day. Also use
the Work Weeks tab to set up alternate or temporary work weeks for the
selected calendar. For example, you can specify that your project team
will be working an extended work week for a rush project throughout
April, or a reduced work week throughout August.

Name Click the next available row in the Name column and type the
name of the work week change you want to make. You cannot change the
name or dates of the Default row, although you can change the details
for the default work week.

Start Enter the first date on which the work week change should take
effect.

Finish Enter the last date on which the work week change should take
effect.

Details With the edited work week row still selected, click this
button to open the Details dialog box and specify changes to days of
the week from the default. You can also double-click anywhere in the
work week row to open the Details dialog box.

Delete Use this button to remove a selected work week row. The
Default work week cannot be deleted.
