When a reminder goes off, if I am not sitting at my computer at the time of the reminder, I miss the alarm. It would sure be nice if it could be set to continue to alert until it was accepted instead of only one alert. Inevitably, 90% of the time, I am not at my desk and miss the reminder.

The audible alert is just part of the reminder. The reminder window
stays on your screen until you dismiss it.

While you might find it convenient to have it continuously "beep" like
an alarm clock, I myself would find it to be annoying, especially if I'm
in an office environment surrounded by others. What if I'm not there to
dismiss it?

For your situation, a mobile phone might be better suited. It's portable
so you won't be tethered to your computer and it may even sync with your
Mac. Or you might consider turning the volume up on your computer while
away from it.

Hope this helps!
