Calling Macros from Outlook event

Does anyone know how to call a macro from an event such as a new incoming
message? I've had a look at custom actions but I don't know how to fire off
macros from them. Thanks

In Outlook 2002 and 2003, you can create a "run a script rule" in the Rules
Wizard. See http://www.outlookcode.com/d/code/zaphtml.htm for an example.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I have outlook 2000. Upgrading is not an option as
it's comany standard.

Then you need to program VBA event handlers, as described on the page I
suggested.
