Callout lines not attached

I have a frustration using the callout boxes in drawings. The lines do not
touch the callout textbox, but are kept a distance away. the place they
attach to the box is also often inconvenient. Is there any way to take
control of these issues? I would like to be much more specific on how
drawings appear.

Hi Bruce,

I'm not sure I'm following you on this one.
What version of Word?
What lines are you referring to? The extension
line on the callout graphic itself, that's part
of the actual graphic (except that the last four
choices intentionally have a space between the
callout box and the line), or are you talking
about the callout tip touching what you're
pointing it to?

What steps are you following and what results
are you trying to achieve?

See if you have the snap to grid feature turned on
from the Drawing Toolbar under the [Draw] features.

Bob,

I am using word XP Pro, but I had the same issue with 2000.

I may have found the solution by changing the "Gap" dimension inthe Format
Callout box.'
Thanks
